Whether you’re a seasoned homeschooler or a beginner, we could all use a little help now and then. Of all the things I love about being a homeschooling family, community is one of my favorites.
Homeschooling families are a village. You can ask us anything. We can make a lesson out of anything. While we may vary in the approaches and methods we choose to home-educate our children, we all agree that every child deserves a quality education.

Support From The Comfort of Your Home
I love the camaraderie of in-person events! The energy and excitement of interacting with peers, parents, and professionals are inspirational and restorative. For the past twenty years, I have attended conferences and conventions to obtain continuing education hours for my professional counseling license.
Yet when the pandemic hit, I began to earn more of those hours through an online format and I haven’t looked back.
Confession time.
I have been a homeschooling mom for five years and I have yet to attend a homeschooling conference in person. Let me assure you I want to!
Total transparency? What holds me back are two things, money and time. Registration fees aside, attending in-person conferences requires travel which means additional expenses for lodging, gas, and meals.
While I do not doubt that in-person home education conferences are encouraging, exciting, and educational, I have yet to register. While my inner nerd relishes the thought of meeting some pretty awesome homeschooling giants and pioneers in person, my wallet reminds me that I must choose how my family allocates our homeschooling funds. My heart also reminds me that while we cannot attend in-person events right now, it does not mean we may not be able to attend next year or the next.
My circumstances aside, in this season of homeschooling, our family chooses to take advantage of some wonderful online opportunities to meet our conference needs.
