The Homeschool Counseling Network Adds Faith-Based and Pastoral Counselor Directories
Finding faith-based counselors with the knowledge and understanding necessary to support homeschooling families through their professional practices can present a challenge. We are working hard at The Homeschool Counseling Network to help bridge this gap.
By creating a directory of homeschool family-friendly, faith-based providers, we aim to help ease the burden of seeking support services by doing some legwork for you.
It is our sincerest wish to offer families comfort, encouragement, and support by connecting homeschooling families with providers who are equipped to help meet their Christian and pastoral counseling needs.
The HCN Audience
The Homeschool Counseling Network is a free resource website dedicated to connecting homeschool families with academic advising, coaching, counseling, testing, therapy, and tutoring resources.
While our target audience is homeschooling families of all kinds, a large portion of our audience is Christian homeschooling families. Thus, we are launching a directory dedicated entirely to faith-based counselors, Christian counselors, and pastoral counselors.
A Note About Licensure and Credentialing for Faith-Based & Pastoral Counselors
Faith-Based and Pastoral Counselors are regulated differently from traditionally licensed mental health clinicians such as licensed professional counselors, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists.
For a description of the different types of credentials providers may have, please visit our Counseling 101 page included as part of HCN’s FREE Resource Library.
For more information about faith-based counselors, including Biblical Counselors, Christian Counselors, and Pastoral Counselors, please consult the below resources:
- Biblical Counselors: The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors
- Christian Counselors: The American Association of Christian Counselors
- Pastoral Counselors: National Board for Certified Pastoral Counselors.
This page is just like us – always learning, always growing.
We will continue to update our Faith-Based & Pastoral Resource Page as new providers become available. Please know this list is by no means exhaustive. We recommend all parents and families perform due diligence when seeking services from any provider.

We accomplish our mission through writing, creating digital content, public speaking engagements (podcast appearances, educational conferences, continuing education workshops), and planning and implementing our own online and in-person events.
