In parenting, we often say, “The days are long, but the years are short.” Homeschooling is no different.
When we are in charge of our child’s education, we tend to overthink and overdo it. We convince ourselves to squeeze in just one more math problem, one more grammar lesson, or one more read-aloud. And when it comes to homeschooling around the holidays, we can give in to this temptation of cramming in classwork under the guise of “earning” our breaks. The beauty of home education is we can operate on preferred schedules and at our own pace. Traditional timelines can be tossed aside in favor of teaching from rest.
